About the event
Are you an over-thinker with social anxiety? Do you rehearse conversations? Panic after saying “you too” when a waiter tells you to enjoy your meal? Perfect. This class is for you.
Improv for Anxious Adults is a fun, welcoming workshop for people who overthink, self-edit, and put exhausting pressure on themselves to get everything right. Through improv games, short scenes, and playful exercises, you’ll practice the one thing anxiety makes hardest: being present, trusting your instincts, and responding in the moment without a script.
Improvisation isn’t about being funny. It’s about listening, reacting honestly, and discovering that you don’t need to know what comes next in order to be okay. Improv forces you to release the very instincts that make anxiety so draining: the rehearsing, second-guessing, and nonstop inner commentary. With improv training, people usually discover they’re much more creative, more playful, and far less awkward than they thought.
In this two-hour improv workshop, every exercise is guided and you'll be supported by fellow classmates. Plus, you’ll very likely be laughing within the first ten minutes.
No performance experience needed. Just a willingness to try something new that might feel a little uncomfortable at first, and surprisingly freeing by the end.
Register today, then show up, nerves and all, and we’ll take it from there!
